Bulgaria is one of the few countries in the world in which the soil cover has been studied in detail and mapped in detail for almost the entire territory of the country. In addition to the soil map, several special purpose registers have been established in the country, which concern the quality of soils and their suitability for different types of agriculture. These are the register of damaged soils, erosion map, small-scale soil map of the country, database of soils in the points of the national monitoring network of I level, national soil archive, register of soil quality and numerous studies of soil profiles and partial mappings for different goals.
